With the onset of monsoon in Maharashtra, many areas of the state have received torrential rains, which has worsened the situation. Flood-like conditions have arisen in Baramati and Daund due to heavy rains. Due to torrential rains on Sunday, the Nira Dawa canal broke in Baramati. The canal water accumulated on the Palkhi highway, due to which the Katewadi-Bhawaninagar road had to be closed. Water entered more than 150 houses in Baramati. Administration and NDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue work in the areas.

A total of 22.5 mm of rain was recorded in Pune district on Sunday. Due to heavy rains, water entered the houses in many villages of Indapur and Baramati tehsils. Due to the breaking of the Nira Dawa canal, water spread on the Palkhi highway and the Katewadi-Bhawaninagar road had to be closed. This canal broke in Pimpali area. The breaking of the canal dam has caused heavy damage to agriculture. Also, water has entered many houses.

He took information from the District Magistrates of Pune and Nashik over the phone and directed to provide all necessary assistance for the safety of the local people.

The effect of heavy rains in Maharashtra has been seen in Thane, Pune and Baramati including Mumbai. Many areas of Pune-Baramati are flooded. NDRF teams have been sent to Baramati, Indapur and Solapur, which are engaged in relief and rescue work.

Normally the monsoon season starts in Maharashtra from June 7, but this year it has entered 12 days earlier. The Meteorological Department has informed that favorable conditions are being created for the monsoon to reach Mumbai in the next two days.

The monsoon has covered the Talakkan region of Maharashtra. Monsoon has entered Devgarh (Konkan region) and heavy rains are expected in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg for the next five days.

Favorable conditions will be created for the monsoon in the next three days and the regional meteorological department of Mumbai has predicted the arrival of monsoon in many parts of Maharashtra. A heavy rain alert has been issued in Kolhapur and Konkan region for the next 5 days. Warning has also been issued for Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, parts of Raigad and some areas of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts of West Maharashtra.

Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Konkan-Goa (South) districts. Apart from this, heavy rains are also expected at some places in the Ghat areas of South Madhya Maharashtra.

Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in some parts of North Konkan and North Madhya Maharashtra along with thunderstorms and strong winds at the speed of 40-50 km/hr. At the same time, heavy rains are also expected in some areas of Marathwada.
