A massive fire shook the entire area of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, late on Monday night (February 23). A house in Islamabad Gali No. 3, under the Lisari Gate police station area, suddenly erupted.
The flames spread so rapidly that the people inside the house didn’t even have a chance to recover. The children’s father had gone out to pray at the time of the accident. Five children and a woman died during treatment in this tragic incident, leaving the entire neighborhood in mourning.
Fire Caused by Short Circuit!
It is being reported that the house where the fire broke out was a textile factory and a large quantity of clothes was stored there. It is suspected that a short circuit caused the fire, which quickly escalated into a massive fire.
Upon receiving information about the fire, several fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene and, after considerable effort, the fire was brought under control. Local residents also displayed courage and rescued some people trapped inside the house through the roof.
Children were among the dead.
Those injured in the accident were immediately admitted to a private hospital, where six succumbed to their injuries. Given the severity of the incident, senior police and administrative officials arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit as the cause of the fire, but police are investigating all aspects. Losses from the fire are estimated to be in the millions of rupees.
According to police, doctors declared Ruksar (25), Mahbish (12), Hammad (four), Aqdas (four), Nabiya (four months), and Inayat (four months) dead. All were residents of Gali No. 3, near the Surahi Wali Masjid in Kidwai Nagar.
The injured, Amir Bano (55), is undergoing treatment.
