A fire broke out in Lucknow’s Lokbandhu Hospital on Monday night. At the time of the fire, there were more than 200 patients in the hospital. After the fire, there was chaos in the entire hospital. Patients were taken from here to other hospitals including Lokbandhu.
State Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak said that smoke was seen coming out from the second floor of Lokbandhu Hospital. After that the patients were taken to another place. Pathak said that the doctors and other staff in the hospital have transferred all the patients to different hospitals and now there is no patient in the hospital premises.
It is being told that the fire broke out in the hospital due to a short circuit. The flames of the fire were so strong that the entire building was filled with smoke. The situation worsened further. After this, the hospital administration cut off the electricity for security reasons, due to which darkness spread and there were a lot of difficulties in evacuating the patients.
In the rescue operation that went on all night, about 250 patients evacuated from Lokbandhu Hospital were shifted to hospitals like Civil, Balrampur, KGMU and Lohia in Lucknow. The family members allege that the oxygen supply stopped due to the power cut. In such a situation, a patient named Rajkumar Japati died. The family members have made serious allegations against the hospital administration. They say that as soon as the power of the hospital was cut, the oxygen supply stopped, due to which their family member lost his life.
