The nine districts are Chandel, Kakching, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Kangpokpi, Imphal West, Thoubal, Tengnoupal and Imphal East.
Ten Manipur Police commandos and a BSF jawan have been injured in separate incidents of attacks by suspected Kuki militants in Moreh in Tengnoupal district since Saturday.
Armed attackers killed four people and injured 14 others in Thoubal district on Monday, the first day of the new year.
Manipur Commissioner (Home) T Ranjit Singh said in a notification that in view of the prevailing law and order situation, the state government has decided to continue the suspension of mobile internet services within a 2 km radius within nine districts for 15 days. Have decided. After almost months, the Manipur government on December 3 lifted the ban on mobile internet services in large parts of the violence-hit state. However, restrictions continued in the border areas of the above nine districts.
Mobile internet services were first banned in Manipur about eight months ago after ethnic violence broke out between the non-tribal Meitei and tribal Kuki-Zo communities on May 3 last year. Since then the ban has been extended every five days.
