Monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. Sudden floods and landslides in Mandi, Kullu and Kinnaur districts have made the situation serious. The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway has been closed. Two tourists have died after being hit by a landslide in Kinnaur.

Monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh have once again wreaked havoc. Incidents of flash floods and landslides in Mandi, Kullu and Kinnaur have caused heavy destruction. The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway in Mandi has been blocked by debris and flood water. The situation has become very bad in Takoli, Panarsa and Nagwain areas. The National Highway has been completely closed in Takoli, due to which traffic has been badly affected. The highway is also blocked due to landslide in Jhalogi.
Flood havoc continues in Pahanala of Kullu as well. The fast flow of water has caused heavy destruction from Nagwai to Aut in Mandi district. Rainwater and debris have reached Takoli vegetable market and four lane and have disrupted the entire area. Business has come to a complete standstill due to debris entering the vegetable market. Debris has filled inside many houses, due to which the daily life of families has become disrupted.
Vehicles washed away in flood
Floods and debris damaged more than 15 vehicles in Takoli, Panarsa and Nagwain. Some vehicles were swept away in the strong currents while some were buried in the debris. Due to the closure of roads in these areas, the movement of people came to a complete halt. However, it is a matter of relief that no news of loss of life has come to light so far. Mandi ASP Sachin Hiremath said that the administration is constantly monitoring the situation and rescue and restoration work is going on on a war footing.
