In this regard, SP Rudraprayag Akshay Prahlad Konde has given information that in view of the safety of the general public and devotees, the Kedarnath Dham Yatra has been postponed till further orders. The devotees who have come on the Kedarnath Dham Yatra route have been safely stopped at the place where they are.
He informed that movement has been stopped for the time being due to the possibility of stones falling on the footpath and obstruction of the path at some places between Gaurikund and Kedarnath. The police force is on alert in the entire district including the Kedarnath Dham footpath. The water level of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers passing through the district has increased, avoid going to the river banks.
According to the weather forecast, a red alert has been issued for the next few hours today. The district police appeals to the general public and devotees to avoid unnecessary travel and stay safe wherever they are.
On the other hand, tourists are facing trouble after the landslide on the Badrinath highway. However, the administration is engaged in normalizing the situation. A tourist told IANS, “The way the administration is working, it seems that the situation will soon come under control. The local administration is doing a very good job and is very cooperative.”
