According to the Divisional Railway Manager of Katihar Division of NFR, this accident happened around 9 am, in which some people have been reported injured. He said that 13174 Kanchenjunga Express coming from Agartala collided with a freight train near Rangapani in New Jalpaiguri. The Kanchenjunga Express runs daily which connects Bengal with the northeastern cities of Silchar and Agartala. The route falls in the Chicken Neck Corridor, which connects the Northeast with the rest of the country. An accident on this line could affect the movement of several other trains.
