Uttarakhand | Joshimath-like situation in Mastadi and Kujjan villages of Uttarkashi, frequent landslides

Uttarkashi. This year is a year of troubles for Uttarakhand. While the existence of Joshimath is in danger due to landslides and cracks in the houses, on the other hand, the sound of disaster is being heard in Uttarkashi due to incessant rains in the state.
Joshimath-like situation has also arisen in two villages of Mastadi and Kujjan in Bhatwadi tehsil of Uttarkashi. Landslides are happening continuously in both the villages after heavy rains. Due to which people are scared. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the administration has taken action. The administration has got the villages surveyed by the scientists of the Geological Survey of India. After getting the report of the survey, further action regarding security will be taken.
After analyzing the results of terrestrial survey and laboratory testing of soil samples, the Geological Survey of India will submit its report to the district administration.
District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that after receiving the report of the department, the opinion of the experts regarding the security of the villages would be taken by the administration. Further strategy will be decided accordingly.
DM Abhishek Ruhela said that in Mastadi and Kujjan villages, apprehensions of danger were being expressed in the residential areas due to long-standing landslides and seepage of water from inside the land. In view of this, the team of the department surveyed both the villages.
Let us inform that apart from Joshimath in Uttarakhand, there are many villages whose existence is in danger. Due to landslide here, people are forced to spend nights in the shadow of fear. The situation has become even more serious due to continuous heavy rains.
