Amid the probe into the mysterious death of 17 members of three families in a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir, authorities have cordoned off a well in the affected area. According to officials, some pesticides have been found in the water of the spring.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Kotrakanka subdivision) Dil Mir has ordered the cordoning off of the well in Badhal village of Rajouri district and deployment of two to three security personnel there round the clock.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mir said in an order, “The presence of some pesticides has been confirmed in water samples taken from the well in Badhal village. The said well has been cordoned off.”
He said, “There is a possibility that the tribal population of the village may collect water from this well. Therefore, Tehsildar Khawas should ensure that no villager uses the water of this well under any circumstances.”
