When the police reached the spot and tried to intervene, they were also attacked. Sub Inspector Umesh Modi has suffered a serious head injury. He has been admitted to the hospital. A dozen other people injured in the clashes have also been treated in different hospitals.

Godda MP Nishikant Dubey has targeted the state government regarding this incident. He has blamed Niranjan Yadav for this incident on social media. He is the one who attacked the police station in-charge. Dubey has said that Jharkhand Police has remained a mute spectator in this matter.
