Jharkhand: Chief Minister Hemant Soren honored 24 police officers of the newly promoted State Police Service in the Indian Police Service (IPS) by putting badges on Monday, July 24, 2023 in the Piping Ceremony program organized in the auditorium of the Ministry of Jharkhand. On this occasion, he said that today is a golden opportunity and a historic moment for the officers of the State Police Service, when 24 officers of the Jharkhand Police Service have been promoted to the Indian Police Service.
CM congratulates newly promoted IPS officers
The Chief Minister said that several times during the file movement in the department, it was told by the officers that the file related to the promotion of the State Police Service is moving up and down like a snake-ladder. The executive is doing its work under the rules and regulations, but the file related to promotion is not moving forward at a fast pace. That’s why I expressed my concern that how many times should I sign in the file related to promotion? I was curious that when will I get the promotion. The state government worked seriously on this. As a result of this, today the dream of 24 State Police Service officers getting promoted in the Indian Police Service (IPS) has been fulfilled. Today, on my behalf, I send hearty congratulations and best wishes to all these newly promoted Indian Police Service officers and their families.
For the first time in Jharkhand, 24 state police service officers were promoted to IPS simultaneously.
He said that this moment has come for the first time in the history of Jharkhand when such a large number of State Police Service officers are getting promoted to the Indian Police Service. Said that out of 24 officers promoted in the Indian Police Service, two such women officers are Sarojini Lakda and Amelda Ekka, who have come a long way from being mere constables to becoming IPS officers. The journey of these two women IPS officers will prove to be a source of inspiration and a milestone for the state police personnel.about:blank
158 IPS posts fixed in Jharkhand
The CM said that about 158 IPS posts have been fixed in the state. Out of which 110 posts are recruited directly from UPSC, while on 48 posts, State Police Service officers are promoted and join IPS service. Said that I have full faith that the newly promoted 24 IPS officers, who are getting the state today, will help in strengthening law and order maintenance in Jharkhand as well as filling the shortage of officers in the police department to some extent.
