International para badminton player Prashant Kumar Sinha, 38, resident of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, was murdered in Hazaribagh by his girlfriend Kajal Sinha along with her new lover Raunak Kumar. After this, his body was packed in a sack and thrown under a bridge in Chhadwa Dam, three km away from the city. On Saturday evening, on the example of Kajal, the police recovered the decomposed body of Prashant. Kajal and her lover Raunak have been arrested.
Prashant Kumar Sinha represented India in International Para Badminton competitions. In the year 2023, he also participated on behalf of the country in the international competition held in Thailand. He suffered from cerebral palsy, but was recognized as a brilliant badminton player.
Prashant Kumar Sinha was missing from his home in Birsanagar, Jamshedpur since March 11. His family members had lodged a missing report at the police station on March 13. Later, on March 22, he lodged an FIR suspecting the kidnapping of Prashant and raised suspicion on Kajal Sinha of Hazaribagh.
When the police of Jamshedpur and Hazaribagh detained Kajal Sinha on Saturday evening and interrogated her, the matter came to light. Kajal told the police that she befriended Prashant in the year 2019. Prashant was disabled, but he had a lot of money. According to Kajal, after seeing the money, she increased her friendship with Prashant, but he started loving her and wanted to marry her. Kajal wanted to separate from him and for some time she had started loving Raunak, a resident of Pegouda Chowk, Hazaribagh.
On the other hand, Prashant had many of her intimate photographs. He was threatening to make them viral if they did not take the relationship further. For this reason, she called Prashant to Hazaribagh on the pretext and strangled him to death along with her new lover Raunak.
