A serious road accident has occurred in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. At least seven passengers were killed and several others injured when a Patna-bound bus overturned on Sunday. Police reported this.
The accident took place near Gorhar police station area, about 50 km from the district headquarters, a senior official said. The bus overturned as it turned onto the road.
Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police (SP) Arvind Kumar Singh told PTI-Bhasha, “Seven people have been confirmed dead so far. A few more people are believed to be trapped in the bus,” he said.
The bus was carrying about 50 passengers at the time of the accident. The bus was traveling from Kolkata to Patna. The injured passengers have been admitted to hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
