A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Army was killed in a firing incident inside a military camp in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. A defense spokesperson provided this information on Wednesday.
He said the incident occurred late Tuesday night and an investigation is underway. He also ruled out any terrorist involvement in the shooting.
The spokesperson said, “A JCO of an Army unit deployed in Samba, Jammu, was shot while on duty and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. At present, the possibility of terrorist involvement has been ruled out.”
The spokesperson added, “The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further details will be shared once the facts are established.”
