A case has been registered under Section 299 BNS against Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda, director Gopichand Malineni and producer of the film Jaat Naveen Yerneni for hurting religious sentiments at Sadar police station in Jalandhar, Punjab.
In the complaint given to the police, the complainant alleged that the religious sentiments of the Christian community have been hurt by showing a scene like the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the film ‘Jaat’.
It has been alleged in the FIR that Randeep Hooda has disrespected Jesus Christ and the holy things used in Christianity. For the last few days, the Christian community has been expressing anger over this. The producer and director of the film have been accused of putting such scenes in their film which insulted a religious symbol. The police have started investigating the matter and the concerned officials have assured that the allegations will be investigated impartially.
Jaat is earning well at the box office. This film has collected about 62 crores so far. Now this earning is going to decrease because Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 has been released in theatres today. This film is also getting a good response due to which there is going to be a significant drop in the collection of Jaat.
