मदुरै से चेन्नई जा रही इंडिगो के विमान के विंडशील्ड पर आई दरार
An IndiGo flight from Madurai to Chennai narrowly escaped an accident on Saturday. The pilot’s alertness saved the lives of the passengers. During landing, the pilot noticed a crack in the windshield. Immediately after landing, the pilot immediately informed the engineering team. Upon receiving the information, the plane was grounded for inspection. A preliminary investigation revealed the crack was on the outer part of the windshield. The flight is currently undergoing inspection. The flight will be cleared for flight operations only after a complete maintenance check.
IndiGo Airlines stated in a statement that passenger safety is its top priority. The company assured that all safety standards were being followed. The 178 passengers and six crew members on board the flight were safely evacuated. An expert team has been deployed to thoroughly investigate the flight’s technical data. The incident is under the supervision of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). If the investigation reveals any serious deficiencies, action will be taken.
Given the seriousness of the matter, passengers and experts are raising questions on social media. One passenger wrote on X, “IndiGo’s aircraft were previously safe, but technical flaws have become a concern.” Last year, two IndiGo aircraft experienced technical problems, resulting in the company being fined. This time too, the DGCA will monitor the investigation. IndiGo has promised to arrange alternative flights for passengers.
Experts say that cracks in the windshield are not common. They are often related to flight maintenance or quality. According to the latest news, the investigation was not completed by 11 AM on October 11, 2025. If the aircraft is found unfit, it may have to be repaired or retired.
