So far, 22 cases of the new variant JN.1 have been reported in the country. Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization, said that there is no need to fear at the moment. However, appropriate steps need to be taken.
He said that we need to be alert, but there is no need to worry, because we currently have no data whether the JN.1 variant is more serious or will cause more deaths.
