‘आई लव मोहम्मद’ प्रदर्शन को लेकर एक्शन से अपनी ही पार्टी में घिरे CM आदित्यनाथ, BJP नेता ने दी इस्तीफे की धमकी
After taking action against those who chanted “I Love Mohammad” and put up banners in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has come under fire from his own party. Protests have erupted within the BJP itself. Jammu and Kashmir BJP leader Jataihanzaib Sirwal threatened to resign from the party on Friday. He stated that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement on the “I Love Mohammad” controversy and his police’s “vindictive policy” towards the Muslim community are unacceptable.
What is the “I Love Mohammad” controversy?
During the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, some members of the Muslim community put up banners that read “I Love Mohammad.” Following this, the police filed an FIR against 24 people and arrested several others.
In Bareilly, a riot broke out outside a mosque when people gathered with posters in support of “I Love Mohammad.” Police resorted to lathi charge and arrested 68 people, including a local cleric.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP leader Sirwal has alleged that these banners were an innocent religious sentiment, which should have led to neither an FIR nor an arrest.
BJP leader Sirwal’s accusation and warning
Sirwal said, “This policy of the Uttar Pradesh government is against Modi ji’s principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. Legal action, harsh pressure, communal statements, all this is an insult to the values of our Constitution.”
He said that if the party does not take action on this, he will have to resign. He further said that the state government should conduct an impartial investigation and not target only one community.
Chief Minister Adityanath’s statement
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently reacted to the violent incidents related to the ‘I Love Mohammad’ posters. He said that such acts were deliberately done to create unrest in society. He said, “Those who try to create unrest will not be spared.”
Adityanath also said that those dreaming of “Ghazwa-e-Hind” will receive a “ride to hell.”
The opposition and social organizations sharply criticized Adityanath’s statement, calling it an attempt to suppress religious sentiments. Opposition parties described the Chief Minister’s statement as divisive.
Questions to Chief Minister Adityanath
Chief Minister Adityanath was asked what was wrong with saying “I love Mohammad”? “I love Mahadev” campaigns were launched in Varanasi and “I love Mahakal” in Ujjain to counter “I love Mohammad.” People asked why action was taken only against those who put up posters saying “I love Mohammad” and why no action was taken against others as well.
