Hyderabad Fire Tragedy: 17 Killed, Several Injured Near Charminar

According to a fire department official, a call was received about the fire at around 6.30 am after which firefighters rushed to the spot. He said several people were found unconscious and were admitted to hospitals.

So far 17 people have died in a massive fire in a building in Gulzar House located near the historic Charminar in Hyderabad on Sunday morning. Many people have been admitted to the hospital. The condition of many people is critical.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed grief over the incident and directed senior officials to take all necessary steps to rescue the people trapped in the building.

According to a fire department official, the fire was reported at around 6.30 am after which firefighters reached the spot. He said that many people were found unconscious and were admitted to hospitals.

After visiting the spot, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy told reporters, “The police have informed that eight people died in the fire incident, but only the concerned officials will confirm it.” He said that some children are also among the dead.

An MLA of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, who was present at the spot, told reporters that according to preliminary reports, about 20 people have been admitted to the hospital.

According to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), instructions have been given to immediately rush the injured to the hospital and ensure their proper treatment.
