Nine people were killed and five others injured when a private bus fell into a gorge in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Friday.

Nine people were killed and five others injured when a private bus fell into a gorge in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Friday, police said. Videos circulating on social media show a large number of people assisting in rescue efforts and trying to pull the injured from the wreckage of the bus.
A private bus went out of control and plunged into a 400-meter-deep gorge in Haripur Dhar area of the Shri Renukaji assembly constituency. Twelve people are reported to have died in the accident so far.
Approximately a dozen people were also injured in this tragic incident. The death toll is feared to rise. Around 30 people have been rescued so far. Local residents are involved in the relief and rescue operations. A police team has also reached the spot.
