उत्तर प्रदेश के ग्रेटर नोएडा में रबूपुरा में निर्माणाधीन ईमारत गिरने से मरने वाले मजदूरों की संख्या 4 पहुंची, 7 घायल
A major accident occurred in the Rabupura area of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The lintel of a building under construction in Nagla Hukam Singh village suddenly collapsed, burying 11 workers under the debris. The incident caused panic in the entire area, and people rushed to the scene.
Four workers confirmed dead
Initially, police reported that only five workers were trapped. However, when the SDRF and police team arrived at the scene and began clearing the debris, they discovered that a total of 11 workers were trapped inside. After extensive efforts, the bodies of four workers were recovered, while seven were safely rescued. All the injured were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital, some of whom are reported to be in critical condition.
Accident occurred during shuttering removal
According to reports, shuttering work was underway on the third floor of the building. Workers were removing the shuttering from below when suddenly the entire roof lintel collapsed. It is believed that the structure under construction was weak or the shuttering supports were not installed with sufficient strength. The exact cause will only be confirmed after a technical investigation.
Locals also engaged in rescue operations
Immediately after the accident, there was chaos in the village. People nearby rushed to rescue the workers, but were unable to do so due to heavy debris. Police, SDRF, and other rescue teams arrived and began the operation with the help of machinery. The rescue took several hours.
Contractor questioned
Police have begun questioning the contractor and other responsible persons responsible for the construction. Initial investigations suggest negligence in the construction work. It is reported that the shuttering supports were not installed with sufficient strength, resulting in the lintel being unable to bear the weight of the beam.
The local administration has also inspected the site and stated that documents related to construction approvals, safety standards, material quality, and the technical process of the work are being examined. Officials have clearly stated that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
