मप्र: रेप के आरोप के बाद पार्षद शफीक के घर पर चला था बुलडोजर, अब कोर्ट ने कर दिया बाइज़्ज़त बरी
Many innocent people have had to bear the brunt of the bulldozer justice that has been going on in BJP-ruled states. One such case has come from Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. A former councilor Shafiq Ansari was accused of rape. Now the court has acquitted Shafiq Ansari of the rape charges. The court also found that the woman made the allegations because Shafiq Ansari had filed a complaint against the woman. On the basis of this complaint, the woman’s house was demolished. Later, after the rape complaint, Shafiq Ansari’s house was also demolished. Now he has said that he will demand compensation for his demolished house. For this, he will knock the door of the appropriate forum.
Shafiq Ansari, the victim of this incident, has expressed his opinion on this matter. He told the English newspaper Indian Express, “I am going to file an appeal against the demolition of the house soon. After coming out on bail, I had to live at my brother’s house. Now I have shifted to my ancestral home. My whole family suffered because of this case.”
Shafiq Ansari told another English newspaper, Times of India, “I had built a house on 4,000 square feet of land with my hard-earned money. But now there is only rubble there. We are living in my brother’s house. We had all the papers. It was alleged that the house was built without permission. But we were not given a chance to show the records or say anything. It was simply demolished. I have a family of seven. All of them suffered. I went to jail for three months.”
The case started in 2021 when Shafiq Ansari, who was then a councilor of Sarangpur Nagar Palika, filed a complaint against a woman for illegal drug trade. Following this complaint, the municipal corporation demolished the woman’s house for encroachment. A few days later, the woman accused Shafiq Ansari of rape. The woman claimed that Shafiq had called her to his house on February 4, 2021 and raped her on the pretext of helping her in marriage. After the woman’s complaint, Shafiq Ansari’s house was demolished with a bulldozer on March 13, 2021. Shafiq said that he was absconding at that time and later surrendered. He had to spend three months in jail.
First Additional Sessions Judge Chitendra Singh Solanki of Rajgarh district acquitted Shafiq Ansari on February 14, 2025. He said that there was a lot of difference in the testimony of the woman and her husband and there was no concrete evidence to prove the allegations. The court also said that the claim of having sexual relations with the woman was not proved medically or scientifically. Apart from this, the woman took a lot of time in filing the allegation, for which no satisfactory reason was given. The court held that the woman’s allegation was completely bereft of basic evidence. The woman did not inform the police earlier because of her son’s marriage, but even that did not help in proving the allegations. No evidence was presented against Shafiq Ansari that could prove his wrongful action.
