Rain and floods have caused havoc in Himachal Pradesh. After the flood in Kullu, the situation in Dharamshala is also bad. The water level of Khaniyara Manuni Khad of the district suddenly increased on Wednesday, due to which many workers working in a crusher were swept away in the strong current. At least two bodies have been recovered. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda has expressed grief over the accident.

Local workers said that at the time of the incident, about 100 workers were working on the spot, out of which about 14-15 workers were swept away. There is an atmosphere of panic among the workers working there after losing their colleagues in the sudden flood.

While talking to news agency IANS, Dayakishan, who was present at the spot, said that the company had asked to go down. By the time we went to tie our belongings, the flood came. My bag, money of two-three people, my phone, everything was swept away. He told that about 14-15 people were swept away in the flow of water.

Another laborer Ravi Kumar said that it was raining lightly since morning. We were sleeping after lunch. There has been loss of life and property in the sudden flood. One of our friends from Jammu was washed away.

According to information, the body of a person was found floating down in Manuni Khad. The body of another person was found lying on the project’s number two face.

The workers were working on a hydro power project in the hills of Khaniyara. Local people engaged in the project are said to be safe. Due to rain, the project work was not going on, so all the workers were in the labour colony. Meanwhile, all the water of Manuni Khad and drain was diverted towards the colony and the workers resting in the sheds in the colony were washed away. Most of the workers who were washed away in the water are said to be residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police and SDRF team have reached the spot. Due to the broken roads, the relief and rescue team is facing difficulty in reaching the spot. They have to go on foot, which delayed the rescue work.

Union Health Minister J.P. Expressing grief over the death of the workers, Nadda wrote in a post on the social media platform X, “Sad news has been received of many workers being swept away due to sudden increase in water flow in the Manuni Khad of Khaniyara near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. In this hour of crisis, every BJP worker is dedicated to help the citizens of Devbhoomi in every possible way.
