Nearly 50 houses damaged
Nearly 50 houses were damaged in two hilly villages due to continuous rain in Mahore area of Reasi district. The administration took immediate action and shifted the affected families to safe places and accommodated them in relief camps. About 35 houses were damaged in Bagga Jameslan village. Here all the families were evacuated and shifted to three relief camps set up in nearby government schools and panchayat houses.

Similarly, 15 houses were affected due to land subsidence in Sarai village. Here too, all the families were taken to the relief camp in time. Mahore SDM Shafqat Majeed Bhat and officials of various departments are overseeing the relief and rescue operations on the spot. Food items, blankets, mattresses, tents, drinking water and electricity have been arranged in the camps. The administration says that the situation is being constantly monitored and the safety and rehabilitation of the affected families is their first priority.
