In Haryana’s Nuh, discussions were on in full swing to once again take out the Braj Mandal Yatra, but the Nuh administration has put a stop to it. The Nuh administration has denied permission to the Brij Mandal Jal Abhishek Yatra of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), which was to be held on August 28. Nuh Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata confirmed this and told IANS that, “The permission to travel to VHP has been cancelled.”
The administration official said the decision to deny permission was based on intelligence inputs and suggestions from local peace committees. They say that the situation in the district is still tense.
Hindu groups under the banner of Sarva Hindu Samaj held a mahapanchayat on August 13 at Pondari village in Palwal district, in which they said they would resume the Braj Mandal Yatra on August 28.
A VHP leader said, “We know that the permission has been rejected by the administration but the members of the organization have said that they will continue the yatra.”
Six people, including two home guards and a cleric, were killed in a clash following a VHP procession in Nuh.
Sources said that permission was denied keeping in mind the G20. The upcoming G20 meeting is to be held from September 3 at Taudu, a place near Nuh.
