Haryana | 5 killed in collision between 2 cars in Kurukshetra

Police said a car carrying six passengers from Bubka village in Ambala was badly damaged in the collision, killing five of its passengers on the spot.

Five people were killed in a head-on collision between two cars on the Kaithal-Kurukshetra road, eight kilometers from Kurukshetra, on Monday morning, police said.

Adarsh ​​Police Station Station House Officer (SHO) Dinesh Singh said the accident occurred around 7 a.m. near Gharasi village, and the vehicles were believed to be traveling at high speeds.

He said the impact was so severe that both vehicles were completely damaged. Locals cut open the doors to rescue those trapped inside.

Police said a car carrying six passengers from Bubka village in Ambala was badly damaged in the collision. Five of the occupants died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Praveen (son of Swaraj), Pawan and Rajendra (sons of Bal Kishan), Urmila (wife of Pawan), and Suman (wife of Sanjay). Another passenger, 18-year-old Vanshika, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment.

Four people in the other car were also injured. They were identified as Santosh (45), wife of Dharampal, Rishipal (55, son of Karam Singh), Rishipal’s wife Leela Devi (52), and Praveen (40), son of Jeeta Ram, residents of Papnawa Jati Road. They were on their way to Mullana in Ambala for treatment.

Leela Devi had recently undergone surgery and was being taken for further care.

Police said the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the injured have been taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital for treatment.
