Following the accident in Arpora, Goa, police have issued a lookout notice against the absconding club owners, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra. An FIR had already been registered against the nightclub owners. Police have charged them with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
According to Goa Police, both accused have left Goa since the incident and are now attempting to leave the country, which is why the lookout notice has been issued. High alert has been sounded at all airports and police stations, and photographs of the two accused have been circulated.
They stated that the two accused are constantly changing their locations. Several teams have been formed to apprehend them, and they are being actively searched for; their arrest is expected soon.
Earlier, the Director General of Police of Goa had confirmed the registration of the FIR against the two accused. He stated that a complaint had been filed against the two club owners, the manager, the investor, and several others. Some people from the club have been detained for questioning, although the club owners are currently evading arrest and are being sought.
The entire incident occurred on the night between Saturday and Sunday. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Investigations by the police and fire department are underway.
Meanwhile, four people arrested in connection with the case were produced before the Bardez District Court late Sunday night. The court remanded the four managers to six days of police custody.
Goa Police, with the help of Delhi Police, have also detained a man named Bhola in connection with the absconding owners. Investigators are examining his connections to the nightclub and to Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra. Delhi Police is cooperating with Goa Police in the ongoing investigation.
Additionally, the person responsible for the club’s operations has also been detained. A police team traveled from Goa to Delhi to apprehend Bhola, and he is now being brought back to Goa for further investigation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced ex-gratia payments to the victims from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). The Prime Minister’s Office announced through its official ‘X’ handle that an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh each would be given to the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
