A Class IX student was allegedly raped by four minor boys in her house in Ghaziabad. Three of the accused study in the same school as the victim. Police officials confirmed the incident on Wednesday and said an investigation has been launched into the case.
Police said the girl was alone at home and her mother had gone to the market when the incident took place on Sunday morning in a housing board society in the city’s Kavinagar area.
An official said, “The minor girl was in touch with a boy on Instagram who was sending her messages to meet her. On Sunday, he reached the girl’s house around 11.30 am and knocked on the door. As soon as the girl opened the door, the boy along with his three friends forcefully entered the house and all four of them allegedly raped her.” He said, “Meanwhile, the girl’s mother returned from the market and found the door of the house open. She went inside the house and saw four boys with her daughter. She took the daughter out of the room and locked these boys in the room before calling the police.”
The official said that just as the police were about to arrive, some officials of the society reportedly reached the girl’s house and let the boys go.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kavi Nagar) Bhaskar Verma told PTI that the girl’s father has filed an FIR against the four boys.
“The boys study in Classes 11, 10 and 9. The girl has been sent for medical examination and her statement is yet to be recorded. The minors have also not been apprehended. The police are investigating the matter,” Verma said.
He said the matter is being investigated to ascertain facts and information.
