Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot tests positive for Covid, swine flu

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was admitted to Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur on Saturday after complaining of difficulty in breathing. According to doctors, now his condition is stable. He has been found infected with Covid-19 and swine flu.

Additional Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Pradeep Sharma said that Gehlot was admitted at around 12 o’clock in the night. The doctors examined him. A team of other senior doctors is taking care of him.

Doctors said that when Gehlot was brought to the hospital late at night, in the initial investigation his oxygen saturation level was between 85-90, which is very low. He was asked to get admitted at night. In the morning his BP, pulse rate and other physical parameters remained normal.

The former CM has been infected with Covid-19 in the years 2021 and 2023 also. At that time, the doctors of SMS Hospital treated him while isolating him at home. This time, along with Covid, he has also been tested positive for swine flu.

Gehlot was also admitted to the cardiology wing of the hospital in 2021 after complaining of chest pain, where he underwent angioplasty.
