In Jharkhand, a young man died on the spot in an attack by wild elephants, while in separate incidents, one person died during treatment and two others were injured. The presence of 42 elephants in the forests of Ramgarh-Bokaro has created panic in the area.

Five people, including two women, have died in the last 24 hours in Jharkhand due to attacks by wild elephants, officials said on Wednesday. Officials said three people died in the Sirka forest area of Ramgarh district on Tuesday night, while a 36-year-old man died in Jidu village of Angara in Ranchi.
Ramgarh Divisional Forest Officer Nitish Kumar said, “Some of the bodies have not yet been identified. Two Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and forest guards are monitoring the movement of the elephant herd in the area.”
Officer Nitish Kumar said that on Tuesday afternoon, Amit Kumar Rajwar (32) had gone near a herd of eight wild elephants to make videos and take pictures when the elephants trampled him to death.
He said that approximately 42 elephants, divided into different herds, are roaming in the forests located in the border areas of Ramgarh and Bokaro districts.
Angara police station in-charge Gautam Kumar Rajwar said that a man named Sancharwa Munda died during treatment, while two injured people, including a woman, are still undergoing treatment.
