Five people, including a 13-year-old girl, were killed and several others injured when a minibus allegedly collided with a stationary truck near Nelogi Cross in Jevargi taluk of Kalaburagi district in Karnataka in the early hours of Saturday.

Five people were killed in an accident in Karnataka in the early hours of Saturday. A minibus collided with a parked truck near Logi Cross in Jevargi taluk. In which five people died and many others were injured. A 13-year-old girl is also among the dead.
According to the local police, all the passengers in the bus were residents of Bagalkot and they were going to a dargah in Kalaburagi district. This road accident happened around 3:30 in the morning.
Police said that the truck with which the minibus collided had a punctured tire and was standing on the left side of the road. The driver of the truck was busy changing the tire, when the minibus hit the truck from behind.
The accident was so severe that five people died on the spot. While many other passengers were injured. Superintendent of Police A Srinivasulu said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The driver of the minibus fled from the spot after the accident. The police have registered a case and the search for the absconding driver is on.
