In Tikar Deeh village of Kokhraj area, around 7:00 am on Monday, eight people of the village who had gone to dig soil in the pond got buried under the soil when the mound collapsed. On hearing the screams, the villagers reached the spot and started removing the people buried under the soil. Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot after getting the information.
With the help of the villagers, everyone was taken out. In critical condition, everyone was taken to the medical college by ambulance. Where 35-year-old Mamta wife of Awadhesh, 35-year-old Lalita Devi wife of Rajesh, 13-year-old Uma Devi, 15-year-old Khushi daughter of Phoolchandra and 70-year-old Kachhari Devi wife of late Chhotalal were declared dead by the doctors.
At the same time, 40-year-old Maina Devi wife of Raju, 16-year-old Sapna daughter of Bharat and 35-year-old Aakrosh Kumar son of late Chhotalal are undergoing treatment. The police have completed the legal formalities and sent the bodies for post-mortem. These deaths have created an uproar in the houses of the deceased.
