At least eight people were killed and 10 others injured in a blast at a firecracker godown in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district on Saturday.
According to officials, five more people are said to be trapped in the godown, with the fire and rescue services conducting operations jointly with the district police.
Krishnagiri police officials confirmed to the media that rescue operations are underway and the victims are yet to be identified.
Two women laborers lost their lives in an explosion at a firecracker unit at Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district on Tuesday.
