In view of the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement, the Haryana government has extended the ban on mobile internet and sending multiple SMS (messages) in seven districts till 11.59 pm on Saturday night. This information has been given in an official order.

Mobile internet and sending multiple SMS were banned in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa on February 11. After this, the ban was extended on 13, 15, 17, 19, 20 and 21 February.

Additional Chief Secretary T.V.S.N. “After assessment of the prevailing law and order situation in the state, the situation in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa districts is still found to be serious and tense,” Prasad said in the order issued on Friday. ‘

“There is a clear possibility of disruption of public functioning, damage to public properties and facilities and disturbance of public law and order in these districts due to misuse of internet services through spread of inflammatory content and rumours,” he said.

The order states that mobile internet services, except voice calls, bulk sending of SMS (except banking and mobile recharge) and mobile services provided on mobile networks in the jurisdiction of Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa districts. The ban on all dongle services etc. has been extended till 11.59 pm on 24th February.
