Election Commission issues notice to 6 political parties of U’khand

The Election Commission of India has issued a ‘show cause’ notice to six registered political parties in Uttarakhand that have been inactive for six years.

The Election Commission of India has issued a ‘show cause’ notice to six registered political parties of Uttarakhand which have been inactive for six years. This step has been taken against those parties which have neither participated in any election for the last six years nor any physical existence of their offices has come to light.

According to the information received from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, all these political parties have neither been participating in elections for the last 6 years nor any trace of their work has been found. Due to which all these political parties have to respond to the notice within the next 15 days i.e. by 5 pm on July 21. Out of the 42 registered unrecognized political parties in Uttarakhand, there are many parties which are not able to fulfill the necessary conditions to remain registered unrecognized political parties (RUPPs- Registered Unrecognized Political Parties). Due to which 6 political parties of the state have been identified.

Election Commission sent notice to these parties

  1. Bharatiya Jankranti Party – 12/17 Chukhuwala, Dehradun
  2. Hamari Janmanch Party – 1/12 New Chukhuwala, Dehradun
  3. Maidani Kranti Dal – Masjid Wali Gali, Majra, Dehradun
  4. Praja Mandal Party – Barthwal Niwas, Sheetla Mata Mandir Marg, Lower Bhaktiyana Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal
  5. Rashtriya Gram Vikas Party – 62 Civil Line, Roorkee Haridwar
  6. Rashtriya Jan Sahay Dal – 112-New Connaught Place, Dehradun
