More than 157 people died in Friday’s earthquake
It is noteworthy that due to the 6.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Nepal on Friday night, at least 157 people died and more than 160 people were injured in the remote mountainous region of the country, while hundreds of houses were damaged. This is the most destructive earthquake in Nepal since 2015. This was the worst earthquake to hit western Nepal since 2015. Hundreds of houses were damaged in remote areas of the Himalayan country due to the earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Jajarkot district, about 500 km northwest of Kathmandu. Nepalgunj, located in the Himalayan foothills near the India-Nepal border, is closer to the earthquake-hit area than Kathmandu.

An earthquake occurred not only in Nepal but also in Afghanistan at 1:25 pm. This earthquake occurred in Faizabad, located 328 km north-east of Afghanistan. According to the National Seismology Centre, the intensity of these tremors has been measured at 4.5 on the Richter scale.
