A horrific road accident has occurred in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. Four people were killed and five others were seriously injured when they were hit by a speeding truck near a bus stand on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway on Wednesday evening. Police gave this information.

Superintendent of Police Abhishek told reporters that on information the police reached the spot and started rescue operations. He said that four people died in this incident. The deceased were identified as Monu (30), Omvir Malik (55) and Vishal (30). One victim has not been identified.
He said five injured people were taken to hospital. The truck has been seized while the driver managed to escape.
