Film director Partho Ghosh has passed away. It is being said that he died of a heart attack.

Indian film director Partho Ghosh died on Monday morning. He breathed his last at the age of 75. He was a well-known Bollywood director. He made many famous films, including Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit’s film ‘100 Days’ and Nana Patekar’s ‘Agni Sakshi’.
Partho Ghosh died due to heart disease. He lived in Madh Island area of Mumbai. He is now survived by his wife Gauri Ghosh. The news of his death has deeply shocked the film industry.
Actress Rituparna Sengupta mourned his death and said that she has no words to express her grief. Rituparna Sengupta said, “We have lost a brilliant artist, visionary director and a good human being.
Partho da, we will always remember the magic you have spread through films. May God rest your soul.” Before Hindi cinema, Partho Ghosh worked for Bengali cinema.
He started his career as an assistant director in Hindi films in 1985. His first big film was the 1991 superhit ‘100 Days’. The film starred stars like Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Moon Moon Sen and Javed Jaffrey.
The story of the film revolves around a woman who can sense future events. The film was a remake of the 1984 Tamil film ‘Noorvathu Naal’, which itself was inspired by the 1977 Italian film ‘Sette Note in Nero’.
In 1992, Partho Ghosh made the film ‘Geet’. Avinash Wadhawan and Divya Bharti played important roles in this film. His film ‘Dalaal’ was one of the highest grossing films of 1993. Many actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Ayesha Jhulka, Raj Babbar, Tinnu Anand, Shakti Kapoor, Ravi Behl, Satyen Kapoor, Indrani Banerjee, Tarun Ghosh and Ravi Behl worked in this film.
Apart from this, the 1996 film ‘Agni Sakshi’ was well liked by the audience. It was a box office success. It starred Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar and Manisha Koirala in the lead roles.
By 2015, Partho Ghosh had directed and written more than 15 films. Another of his hit films was ‘Tiesra Kaun’, which was a remake of the 1990 Malayalam film ‘Number 20 Madras Mail’. This Malayalam film was directed by Joshiy and Mohanlal was in the lead role. In 2010, Partho Ghosh directed two more films ‘Ek Second… Jo Zindagi Badal De?’ and ‘Rahmat Ali’.
Partho Ghosh’s last film was the romantic drama ‘Mausam Ikrar Ke Do Pal Pyar Ke’ which came in 2018. The film featured Mukesh J Bharti, Madalsa Sharma and Avinash Wadhawan in lead roles.
