Air India flight AI2455 faced technical problems and bad weather en route. As a result, the plane had to be diverted to Chennai airport. Five MPs on the flight — KC Venugopal, Kodikkunnil Suresh, Adoor Prakash, K. Radhakrishnan and Robert Bruce — were headed to Delhi.

Unprecedented turbulence immediately after takeoff

Congress MP KC Venugopal said on social media that the flight started late and faced severe turbulence immediately after takeoff. About an hour later, the captain informed about the flight signal fault and decided to divert the plane to Chennai.

Major danger averted during landing

According to Venugopal, the plane waited for clearance over Chennai airport for about two hours. A shocking moment came during the first landing attempt, when another plane was present on the same runway. The captain’s quick decision pulled the plane up again and saved the lives of all the passengers. The flight landed safely in the second attempt.
