Deputy Commissioner of Police Gautam said that the sequence of events will only become clear based on CCTV footage, technical examination of the vehicles, and statements from eyewitnesses.

A car allegedly hit a motorcycle in Krishna Nagar, East Delhi, early Monday morning, killing a 22-year-old man and injuring two others, police said.
Police received information about the incident at 4:10 am.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said, “A damaged Bullet motorcycle was found lying on the road, while the red car involved in the accident was found mounted on the divider with its front end severely damaged. This indicates that the collision was quite forceful.”
The officer said that during the investigation, it was learned that the motorcycle rider, identified as Shahbaz (22), a resident of Khureji, was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. He added that Sameer (21), also a resident of Khureji, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle, is undergoing treatment.
Police said that the car driver, Rishabh (28), a resident of Sangam Vihar, was also injured and is being treated at Hedgewar Hospital.
The officer said that another person who was with Rishabh fled the scene after the accident.
DCP Gautam said that the sequence of events will become clear only after examining CCTV footage, conducting a technical inspection of the vehicles, and recording the statements of eyewitnesses.
He said, “Based on preliminary information, a case is being registered under sections related to death due to negligence and rash driving. An investigation is underway to trace the (car driver’s) accomplice who fled the scene, and efforts are also being made to ascertain whether the accident was caused due to speeding or any other negligence.”
Police said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and the families of all those affected by the accident have been informed.
They added that it is also being investigated whether the car driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Both vehicles have been seized.
