The death toll in landslides that hit villages in Davao de Oro province in the southern Philippines this week has risen to 27, while 89 people are missing. The officers provided this information.
In a statement, the Maiko municipal government said 32 people had been rescued from the landslide, which occurred near a mining site in the city of Maiko on Tuesday night, Xinhua news agency reported. Many houses and two buses were buried in the accident.
The statement said at least 89 people were missing. Previous reports said that 15 bodies had been recovered.
