Air India flights suspended from Chennai airport due to cyclone Michong

Amid heavy rains in Chennai due to Cyclone Michong, Air India has suspended all flights to and from the city till 11 pm. An Air India spokesperson gave this information on Monday.
“All flight movements to and from Chennai are suspended till 11 pm on December 4 due to inclement weather,” the spokesperson said. “In view of the situation, Air India will offer one-time waiver of rescheduling/cancellation charges on booking to its guests holding confirmed tickets on any flight from/to Chennai on 4th December.”
There has been heavy rain in Chennai, due to which subways and main roads have been flooded. Flights were delayed and canceled at Chennai airport due to heavy rain on Monday morning. Sources said the services would resume after the rains subside.
Suburban trains have also been affected and authorities have temporarily canceled services.
