Refuting reports of new crack in Badrinath temple, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has said that no new crack has been seen in the Singhdwar of Shri Badrinath temple nor is there any land subsidence in the Badrinath temple area. Is.

BKTC said that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is carrying out repair work on the already minor cracks in the Singhdwar of the Badrinath temple. No new cracks have appeared at this time. Shri Badrinath- Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay had written a letter to the government in the year 2022 informing about the slight cracks on the Singhdwar of Badrinath temple. After this, the government asked the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to prepare a detailed report in this regard. In this sequence, ASI had prepared an action plan for repairs in July 2022. In October 2022, ASI had fixed glass tiles (scale-like leaves of glass) on the cracks of the Singh Gate, so that it could be known how wide the cracks were.

After studying the glass tiles, ASI started the treatment work on August 9, 2023. Then no significant change was observed in the cracks. BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said that under the treatment work of Singh Dwar, treatment work has been done on the right side of Singh Dwar in the first phase. Now treatment is proposed on the cracks on the left side. Thus, it is clear that there are cracks on Singhdwar since long time, the treatment of which is being done.
