Apart from this, the department has also talked about recovering Rs 1437 crore from electricity consumers. For this, the average billing rate has been prepared in different categories on the basis of 61 paise per unit. If the regulatory commission accepts the Corporation’s rate, then electricity consumers are sure to get a shock of inflation.

Fuel surcharge hiked from 28 paise per unit for domestic BPL, 44 to 56 paise per unit for domestic general, 49 to 87 paise per unit for commercial, 19 to 52 paise per unit for farmers, non industry There may be an increase of 76 7.0 per unit for blackload and 54 to 64 paise per unit for heavy industry.

At the same time, the State Electricity Consumers Council has reacted to this proposal. He has said that this proposal will not be allowed to be implemented under any circumstances. Council President Awadhesh Kumar Verma said that we will not allow this proposal of Power Corporation to be implemented. He said that about 3122 crore surplus is already coming out on the Electricity Corporation. He said that if this formula is adopted, on the contrary, consumers will benefit by 30 paise per unit. According to the chairman of the council, the regulatory commission did not adopt the formula as in the law made in June 2020. In such a situation, the proposal to impose surcharge on consumers should be rejected immediately.
