Chhattisgarh | Rahul Gandhi works with farmers in paddy field, says ‘pro-farmer’ model to be replicated across India

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi visited Kathiya village near Raipur, Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Gandhi helped farmers and laborers in harvesting paddy and talked to them. He took to the microblogging platform ‘X’ to highlight the work done by his party’s government for the farmers in Chhattisgarh.

Rahul Gandhi listed the following five decisions taken by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government in Chhattisgarh, which led to the prosperity of farmers. Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy is Rs 2650 per quintal, subsidy of Rs 23,000 crore to 26 lakh farmers, loan waiver of Rs 10,000 crore to 19 lakh farmers, electricity bill halved and assistance of Rs 7000 per year to 5 lakh farmers.

He said that he wants to replicate this model in the rest of India also. Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17 and counting of votes will take place on December 3. In 2018, the Congress had won 68 of the 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh with a vote share of 43.9 percent.
