A tragic accident occurred late Tuesday night on NH-49 near Sukli village in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district, causing widespread panic.
A massive collision between a truck and a Scorpio resulted in the death of five people on the spot, while three others are hospitalized in critical condition. The accident was so severe that the front of the Scorpio was completely crushed, and it took considerable effort to extricate the occupants.
According to reports, the Scorpio occupants were residents of Shanti Nagar in Navagarh. They were returning from a wedding procession. As the vehicle approached Sukli, it collided with an oncoming truck. The impact was so severe that the Scorpio was dragged for several meters. Upon hearing the sound of the accident, nearby residents rushed to the scene, informed the police, and attempted to rescue the injured.

The deceased have been identified. The deceased include Vishwanath Devgan, father Sukhru Devgan (43 years), Rajendra Kashyap, father Komal Kashyap (27 years), Pomeshvar Jaltare, father Purushottam Jaltare (33 years), Bhupendra Sahu, father Resham Sahu (40 years), and Kamalnayan Sahu, father Ramcharan Sahu (22 years). Three others are reported to be critical and are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
This incident is deeply tragic for the entire area. An atmosphere of mourning has descended upon the village, as the joyous atmosphere of returning from a wedding procession was suddenly interrupted by tragedy that changed the lives of many families forever.
