Four Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region. A security guard was martyred there. This information has been given in an official statement. Intermittent encounters between security forces and Naxalites continue since the evening of 4 January. During the search operation, bodies of 4 uniformed naxalites have been recovered so far.
Sannu Karam, a head constable of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), was killed in an encounter in a forest in South Abujamad on Saturday evening. An official said the encounter started when a joint team of security personnel was on an anti-Maoist operation.

On November 22 too, the security forces had a major success in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. 10 Naxalites were killed in the encounter between security personnel and Naxalites.
In this encounter in the dense forests of the area, many weapons including Insa’s rifle, AK-47 and an SLR were recovered. Police also seized other weapons and ammunition during the operation.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s office then wrote on social media platform X, “Security forces killed 10 Naxalites in a major operation in Sukma district this morning.”
Expressing happiness over this achievement of the security forces, Sai said that his government is working on a policy of zero tolerance towards Naxalism. Ensuring development, peace and security of citizens in Bastar is the highest priority of Chhattisgarh government.
