Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Wednesday suspended 15 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs including Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur and then postponed the proceedings of the House.

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Wednesday suspended 15 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs including Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur and then postponed the proceedings of the House. BJP MLAs were suspended on charges of misconduct and sloganeering in the House.
Thakur told reporters in the morning, “We suspect Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania may suspend BJP MLAs to pass the budget in the assembly.”
Significantly, this decision has come to suspend MLAs a day after the BJP won the only Rajya Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh.
