This is how Chandrayaan-3’s landing happened

Vikram Lander started its journey to land on the moon from a height of 25 km. It took him about 11.5 minutes to reach the next stage. That is, up to a height of 7.4 kilometers. By the time it reached an altitude of 7.4 km, its speed was 358 meters per second. The next stop was 6.8 kms.

After this, the speed reduced to 336 meters per second at an altitude of 68 km. The next level was 800 metres. At an altitude of 800 metres, the lander’s sensors beamed laser beams at the lunar surface to find the right spot for landing.

The speed of the lander at an altitude of 150 meters was 60 meters per second. That is, between the height of 800 to 150 meters. The speed of the lander at an altitude of 60 meters was 40 meters per second. That is, between the height of 150 to 60 meters. The speed of the lander at an altitude of 10 meters was 10 meters per second.

The speed of the lander was 1.68 meters per second while landing on the surface of the Moon, that is, for soft landing.
