Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the new variant JN.1 is infectious, but its symptoms are mild. Delhi government is fully alert and prepared to deal with this. Meanwhile, officials said the Delhi government will increase monitoring of genome sequencing.
The first case of Corona’s new sub-variant JN.1 surfaced in Luxembourg in August. After this it gradually spread to 36 to 40 countries. WHO has called it a variant of interest. In the last two weeks, 16 patients have lost their lives in the country due to Covid. These patients already had many serious diseases. That means these people were suffering from comorbidities.
